How To Change Gear Sprocket On Bike?
Remove the rear wheel: Flip your bike over, so it rests on the handlebars and seat. Use your wrench or socket set to loosen the quick-release skewer or axle nuts, and then slide the wheel out of the dropouts.
Remove the cassette: Insert the lockring tool into the cassette and turn it counterclockwise to loosen the lockring. Remove the lockring and then slide the cassette off the freehub body.
Remove the old sprocket: You may need to use a chain whip tool to hold the cassette in place while you use a wrench to loosen the sprocket. Once you remove the old sprocket, inspect it for any damage or wear.
Install the new sprocket: Slide the new sprocket onto the freehub body in the correct orientation. Use the chain whip tool to hold the cassette in place while you tighten the sprocket with a wrench.
Reinstall the cassette: Slide the cassette back onto the freehub body and thread the lockring back in place. Use the lockring tool to tighten the lockring clockwise.
Reinstall the rear wheel: Slide the wheel back into the dropouts, making sure the chain is on the correct sprocket. Tighten the quick-release skewer or axle nuts.
